Blog - Happy New Year! V&V Birthmonth Week

Written by Anne & Esther

Happy New Year and cheers to a golden 2024! A new year has begun so that means new opportunities. The first days of the new year are already over and good intentions are back. Therefore, let's all start the year off right by celebrating our birth months! In fact, at Vedder & Vedder, it's birth month week. Find out what your birth month has in store and see what jewelry matches your birth month.

Young, old, classy or cool, there is one thing we all have in common: everyone has a birthstone and flower! Choose the stone or flower that symbolizes your birth month and combine it with that of your sister, loved one or baby for a personal touch and always carry them close to you. Below we are happy to explain to you which birthstones and flowers can be used for this purpose and what they stand for.

The Birthflower and Birthstone Collection features twelve different meaningful flowers and gemstones. Each flower or gemstone on the pendant symbolizes a different month. Carry your personal story and choose the flowers and/or birthstones that are important to you.

January
Were you born in January? Then your birthstone is garnet. This red-colored gemstone represents love, friendship and purity. Garnet can offer direction clues in the dark, making it ideal for frequent travelers. The snowdrop of the Birthflower Bloom Necklace, Bracelet and Studs, which are also available as a set, symbolizes the month of January. The snowdrop used to bring bad luck because it always seemed to grow in graveyards. Today, this delicate little flower, often one of the first to pierce through the snow at the end of winter, represents hope, purity and sympathy.

February
If you were born in February, the Amethyst symbolizes your month. Amethyst represents sincerity, peace and spirituality. Wearing this birthstone in the month of February can strengthen relationships and give courage when needed.

With the Birthflower Collection, the violin symbolizes the month of February. This purple-colored flower symbolizes modesty, faithfulness and virtue. In the Victorian era, a gift of violets was a declaration to always be faithful, and it is still a wonderful reminder of loyalty, thoughtfulness and dependability.

The Topaz gemstone symbolizes the month of March. It can be used to promote a life of happiness. It is a symbol of peace and relaxation, making it the ideal stone to relieve and prevent headaches. For a statement piece of jewelry in conjunction with your birth month, the Tennis Single Birthstone Necklace, Bracelet or Set is a perfect purchase.

For flower lovers, the daffodil flower represents the first month of spring and thus the month of March. These little buds of sunshine symbolize unmatched love and serve as a reminder that the sun always shines when there are loved ones in your life.

April
Diamonds are a well-known gemstone that symbolizes the month of April. This gemstone symbolizes eternal love, beauty, and strength. Its wearers are taught to carry great courage, making it possible to overcome adversity. If you like subtle jewelry, then the Birthstone Necklace is for you. If you were born in April, then you are a daisy. This flower symbolizes purity, true love, and innocence. In Old English, daisies were called the "eye of the day" because they closed around the yellow heart at night and opened again during the day. Daisies are great flowers to show your everlasting love.

May
The emerald symbolizes the month of May. This gemstone has always been associated with eternal youth, spring and love. Emerald is the oldest and probably most famous gemstone. Today, emerald represents wisdom, growth and patience.

A lily of the valley flower represents the month of May, symbolizing purity, sweetness and humility. Its name means "return to happiness" and represents all the little things in life that bring us joy. Unlike a traditional bouquet that wilts after a few days, the Family Birthflower Bouquet Coin Necklace is a bouquet you can look at forever. Personalize all your loved ones' birthflowers on a coin and always carry them close to your heart.
